Travel Assistance will only be provided to registered members of the Club, including athletes, officials and coaches, who have been selected to represent the ACT or Australia.
Cash subsidies to assist participation of members at National and International competitions are available at the discretion of the Committee each season.
Applications for Travel Assistance must be in writing using the form on the Club’s website and be submitted within 14 days of the conclusion of the competition.
Travel Assistance can only be used for events recognised by Athletics ACT or Athletics Australia, excluding School Sport Australia, Masters Athletics and Little Athletics Australia. National events including Junior Track & Field Championships, National Cross Country Championships, Australian Walking or Road Running Championship and the Australian Athletics Championships are all considered equally.
Members must have been:
- registered with the Club for one season before applying;
- actively participating with, demonstration of club spirit or loyalty to the Club throughout the season including volunteering (as determined by the Committee); and
- the travel is determined to be of long term benefit or the member and the club.
Travel Assistance will be capped at one application per individual athlete a season for National Championships (no more than $300) and Major International Championships (no more than $600). Total amount available for the entire season will be determined by the Committee each year. Applications will be considered in the order of their date of submission. International Travel to World Championships, Universiade, Olympics or Commonwealth Games will be rated higher than a National Championship.
Applications will be assessed by the Committee. Members will be informed of the outcome in writing within 14 days of applying.
